Monte Ne, Ark., Coin Harvey pyramid, State Publicity Dept. [graphic] / Ernie Deane [photographer]. [197-?]

Copy negative taken of an Arkansas State Publicity and Park photograph of the Harvey pyramid at Monte Ne, Benton County, Arkansas. In the early 1900s, William "Coin" Hope Harvey developed a resort complex at Monte Ne. Due to his concern that civilization was on the verge of collapse, Harvey planned to build but never completed an obelisk, usually referred to as a "pyramid," to contain a list of the rise and fall of civilization and instructions for rebuilding society. Construction began on the Beaver Dam in 1960 that resulted in the flooding of Monte Ne. Deane more than likely took this copy negative during the 1970s.

1 negative : b&w ; 6 x 6 cm. (2 x 2 in.)
